Visible thinking routines help support student inquiry into various topics.   

A thinking routine is a set of questions or a brief sequence of steps used to scaffold and support student thinking. 

The following routines can be used to help students unpack some of the big ideas behind Reconciliation Week.

• See, Think, Wonder routine to unpack artwork or a photograph.
• Read a short text (eg. newspaper article or song lyrics) and use Sentence, Phrase, Word to uncover the big ideas in the text.
• Watch a video clip and use Connect, Extend, Challenge to build connections, extend thinking and identify questions and challenges.
• Use the Chalk Talk routine to build a collective understanding of the inquiry questions on the home page of this LibGuide.
• After engaging in learning experiences related to Reconciliation Week, use the Colour, Symbol, Image routine to represent big ideas using a colour, symbol and image.
• Ask students to reflect on their learning using the I Used to Think, Now I Think routine.
